The report matched the stone exactly, and the daylight video gave me the confidence to buy from abroad.

Who we are
Bought at the source, cut in Sri Lanka
Ceylon Veritas Gems is a Sri Lankan house that buys direct from the source and sells to people who will not gamble on a gem they cannot hold. We are small on purpose. It keeps us close to every stone.
We buy where the stones come out of the ground, at the mines and gem markets of Ratnapura and Elahera, and we have each one cut and polished in Sri Lanka. Every stone is chosen by hand.
We only buy what we can send to an independent laboratory and stand behind, and if a stone will not pass that test, we leave it on the table.

They sent the report for each stone and never once pushed me. Faultless from first message to delivery.
Fairly priced, with paperwork I could verify with the lab myself. Exactly how buying a fine gem should feel.
The treatment was stated plainly on the listing and matched the report when it arrived. No surprises.

Buyer's guides
What a Ceylon sapphire costs
Four guides to the figures behind a price: what each type asks, how colour and carat weight move it, and what an unheated stone is worth. General market ranges are labelled as such, live figures are computed from the stones listed here, and no table mixes the two.
What each sapphire type costs
General market ranges per carat for blue, padparadscha, teal, pink, yellow and the rest, with a note on what moves a stone inside each range.
By colourSapphire price by colour
The colour families side by side: the median price per carat of the stones listed here, with the general market ranges by type below them.
By carat weightPrice by carat weight
One to ten carats across every sapphire type, blue split heated and unheated, and why the price per carat climbs faster than the carats do.
TreatmentThe unheated premium
What untreated colour asks over an equivalent heated stone, typically two to five times, and how the gap widens with size.
